About our Makhane

Makhana grows in the still ponds of Mithilanchal in north Bihar, harvested by hand. We source the large 5-sut grade directly from farmer collectives in Darbhanga and Madhubani.

Each batch is slow-roasted with a spoon of desi ghee until the nuts puff and turn crisp all the way through. A light dusting of pink salt and black pepper is all they need.
